Forming an Opportunity Belief

1.) I do have a belief that an opportunity exists within the eyewear industry. 2.) It is known that some asian people genetically have lower nose bridges compared to other races, making it hard to find good fitting eyewear. As an asian person myself, I have many instances where the glasses or sunglasses that I try on, slide right down to the tip of my nose or it doesn't fit on my nose correctly. I would also hear this problem from many of my friends and relatives. This need has always existed because this has been an issue for a long time. Of course, this is not a problem within Asian countries, but rather more of an issue for Asian people who live in Western countries, such as the U.S. Right now, I know that some eyewear brands would make separate products just to adjust to the asian nose bridge. I would say that this opportunity exists 100%. 3a) Meghan Ta 4a)  I realized how hard it was to find glasses that sit nicely on my face/nose when I found myself needing glasses for ...

Identifying Local Opportunities

Article 1: Should Facebook be regulated? South Florida CEOs weigh in https://www.miamiherald.com/news/business/biz-columns-blogs/article239786258.html Facebook is a popular social media platform where people from all over the world can connect with friends and family. It was a great, innovative idea that came to life during a time when the internet was emerging. Though, right now, Facebook is undergoing a lot of scrutiny for collecting private information from their users and it seems as though many people in higher up positions are trying to get Facebook regulated for the sake of the user's privacies. As users of the internet, we should have the right to our own private information on our social media accounts. But it seems as though Facebook might be collecting user's private information, putting the user in a vulnerable position. This issue is making people stop using facebook and finding more safe alternatives. Anybody who has an account with Facebook can be describe...

My Entrepreneurship Story

Image
During my Sophomore year of high school, a group of my friends from my elementary school and I had decided to start a service project. In this service project we would build a haunted house and scare people on Halloween to raise money for cancer research. We would start planning over the summer and since we had a very small budget, we had to also find ways to raise money to buy supplies. The hardest part about this was to build the haunted house. With the permission of her parents, we used one of my friends' backyard to build the haunted house. Depending on the theme, we would have to decorate the walls and on the day of Halloween, we would all dress up and be scarers in the haunted house. I remember thinking that we spent a lot of time to plan and organize for this event that only lasts one night. It was tedious and a lot of work, but it was very much worth it. It gained attention over the years and even when my friends and I had moved away for college, my friend's sister h...

Bug List

20 things that “bug” me: Some buses have more handlebars on one side than the other, causing all the people standing to crowd towards that one side. The other side with the less handlebars is to create an open space for those in wheelchairs.  I don’t like the chairs that have the desks attached because of how small the desks are.  Smaller desks make it easier to transport.  There are bike lanes, but there are still bikers who bike on the sidewalk.  It can be dangerous for bikers on the road.  People who are not considerate of others on public transportation; such as listening to loud music, eating, putting their book bags on a seat, etc. They might not necessarily think that what they are doing is inconsiderate. Clothes pilling after you wash them. The more you wash your clothes, the more worn out it becomes.  No matter how many times we take out the trash and clean our garbage can, it always ends up smelling so b...
